Most people looked at them with pity rather than joining in.
They were the same people who were abusing the police, other supporters for not being 'Charlton enough' and generally being the kind of puerile individuals that usually I would go out of my way to avoid.
At the station, waiting for the train back to London Bridge, there were rousing choruses of Valley Floyd Road but no calls for Pardew to leave.
I'm not saying that people are completely happy with Pardew, I'm just saying that perhaps people who weren't there are over playing the strength of feeling with regards to the Charlton support at the supermarket.
MarcoAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5476043688166279353.post-63066573754069005572008-10-03T16:47:00.000+01:002008-10-03T16:47:00.000+01:00BA, you demonstrate an astonishing ability to scri...BA, you demonstrate an astonishing ability to scribble on and on....but commit yourself to nothing.

The only thing I agree with in your lengthy ramble is your justifiably critical comments on what the club now considers our ambition.

Other then that get OFF THE FENCE and have a view.

I just can't stomach what happened at Palace, we lacked commitment, as others have said those bastards wanted it more. That is a step too far, if we can't put up a fight against Palace well what is the point.

To hell on a handcart with talk of "finding a style of play"..... who are we Barcelona? How long does a manager need! Right now we are at best a mid table team in the Championship.

If I hear Pards mutter on about finding "a consistent core within the squad" once more I will personally spend a day putting a banner together saying SHUT UP, ASSHOLE with his picture on it.

BA, rather then drink yourself to an early demise, you could send yourself do-lally by gathering all Pards utterences since the start of the season and putting them up here. He makes absolutely no sense, not once have I felt he has a clear plan, an idea of how we should play and the attitude that should be stamped on each performance.

Please use your extensive drinking hours to review his comments. The man is lost in fog of his own creation.

This is not a sack the manager rant but....."he who does not face reality is living an illusion." Some poor clown said that at some point no doubt wearing sandels and a sackcloth pan handling on the edge of town.

My fantastically wondefull club just played a local derby against the hated opposition and Palace wanted to win more then we did.

Our attitude is so poor, I hasten to add as a squad. We have individuals who give everything each game. Matty just to see your name on the team sheet makes me proud that you play for us.

BA, You are somewhat correct in encouraging the supporters to be positive on Sat. But our energy needs a sense of direction and purpose. The commitment on the field will nearly always be reflected in the stands.

Please Charlton show some back bone and Pards either talk sense or sing a song .

Cambridge AddickAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
