It is clear that Parkinson was too close to the old regime to have had any effect so a new man and new team need to come in and shake the players up. The problem is motivational rather than any lack of ability so we need a motivator.
It seems to be too late to get a new man in now so my bet is that Parkinson will be given the job on a permanent basis.....and we will go down.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5476043688166279353.post-91431288322285623052008-12-31T07:31:00.000+00:002008-12-31T07:31:00.000+00:00Sisyphus was a king comdemed to push a boulder up ...Sisyphus was a king comdemed to push a boulder up a hill which it would roll down again and the task had to be repeated through eternity. I hope Richard Murray is that wealthy that he can afford to see so little return on his investment in financial or pure fun terms to keep at it that long.
I suspect that there is very little happiness generated for him and as fans we should count our lucky stars he has'nt whipped the carpet away from under us.
I can't see anyone coming in to buy him out for many years to come and fear we are on the edge of years of attrition.
So
1.There are unlikely to be fairy godmothers, mysterious wealthy sheiks etc or miracle working managers. The long haul is the only route out of the situation that you can reasonably plan for, we may hope for short cuts and lets hope that one comes along but slow improvement, steady re building of morale and performance with team changes to reflect the new circumstances-ie robust workman like players suited to the leagues we will be in is what we can expect.
2. This it ... as fans we better get behind the team and make the best of it, and be thankful for what we have- this may well include
the current manager

Thanks for a year of intelligent analysis , I've greatly enjoyed the posts and the other stalwarts.
I learnt about the Sub Prime issue from NYA when it hadn't caught my attention in the UK press, and your reference to Sisyphus made we look it it up in Wikepedia to fill the (numerous) gaps in my knowledge,Wyn knows about things I've never heard about.

AndrewAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5476043688166279353.post-47154227603283270682008-12-30T22:52:00.000+00:002008-12-30T22:52:00.000+00:00I think they scored within 5 minutes of the restar...I think they scored within 5 minutes of the restart didn't they BA? Was it Hughes, and then the russian winger (Kanchelski?).

Pembury AddickAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
