In other words it does not involve buying the company lock, stock and barrel (or investing in it). This can easily look like a ploy to avoid going into administration and deemed not acceptable (as with the earlier Southampton bid). I'm no lawyer, but the club is clearly talking to theirs to see what makes sense and what would be ruled out, in the football community at least.
